Raised in Upper Hutt, New Zealand in the 80s – Callan Green was first introduced to the art of photography at the age of 6, at which time he received a little 35mm camera from his mum for being a good boy.

Hundreds of rolls of film later, when Callan was in his early teens, he witnessed a real 35mm motion picture camera in action, while acting in what was later voted New Zealands worst commercial of 1993. Bad commercial or not, from this point on he was destined to become a cinematographer.

At the age of 16 Callan left home and began his quest to make it in the film industry, by working his way up in the camera department. After 7 years as a clapper loader on scores of TVC’s and films including a near 3 year stint on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Callan decided to move to the big smoke in order to become what he had always wanted to be.

Now based in Sydney, Australia – Callan has been a prolific award-winning Director of Photography, for his commercials, music videos and drama. His resume includes work shot all over the world including Europe, Asia, the USA and New Zealand.

Callan has won Gold for the past 7 consecutive years at the NSW ACS Awards, along with 3 Runner Up National ACS Awards and 3 of the highly coveted National ACS Golden Tripods (Music Videos in 2006, and Commercials in 2010 and 2011).
